Chris' blog was also great, I think he is working at Google these days, hopefully he's preaching APM to the Googlers.
On January 1st it was announced that the DOE would be funding Drexler's APM proposal http://www.foresight.org/nanodot/?p=7179
Indeed, but at least it's something. If they can demonstrate a convincing proof of principle it could start the ball rolling for the rest of industry and public research to pick up the slack.
